Ferrari will start its home round of the FIA World Endurance Championship from the front. Antonio Fuoco took pole for the 6 Hours of Monza, the 2026 season finale, in the #50 Ferrari, while Hadrien David put the #78 Akkodis ASP Lexus at the head of the LMGT3 field. The two Toyotas fighting for the drivers’ title start 15th and 16th. The race gets under way on Sunday at 11:00 CET.

Hypercar: Fuoco 0.096s clear of Jaminet
With the track drying out and offering the best grip of the weekend, Fuoco lapped Monza in 1m33.364s in Hyperpole. That gave Ferrari its first Hypercar pole here, by 0.096s from Mathieu Jaminet in the #19 Genesis. Fuoco had already been quickest in the first session, which decides who goes through to Hyperpole, with a 1m33.440s. The circuit has been resurfaced since the WEC last raced here in 2023.
Behind the front row, Earl Bamber was roughly two tenths down in third in the #38 Hertz Team JOTA Cadillac, with Antonio Giovinazzi just behind him in the second works Ferrari, the #51. Peugeot’s Théo Pourchaire was less than three tenths off pole in fifth in the #94 9X8. Alpine’s Victor Martins (1m33.858s) took sixth ahead of Norman Nato in the other Cadillac. Robert Kubica could not find more time on his last lap and was eighth in the #83 AF Corse Ferrari. Nick Cassidy, in the second Peugeot, and Sheldon van der Linde were ninth and tenth; van der Linde’s #20 WRT car was the only BMW in Hyperpole.
The bigger story was further down the order. Neither Toyota made the top ten. Ryo Hirakawa’s #8, 17 points ahead of the sister car in the title race, lines up 15th, and Kamui Kobayashi’s #7 was three tenths slower in 16th. Charles Milesi was 0.074s short of Hyperpole in the second Alpine, both Heart of Racing Aston Martin Valkyries were knocked out, and Mathys Jaubert, on pole in Barcelona, starts 13th in the #17 Genesis.

LMGT3: David takes Lexus pole after Barrichello loses his lap
Hadrien David’s 1m47.523s was his second pole of the year and came on the last WEC weekend for the Lexus RC F GT3. It only stood because Eduardo Barrichello’s lap in the #23 Heart of Racing Aston Martin Vantage GT3 Evo, almost half a second faster, was removed for track limits; Barrichello dropped to fourth. As the surface dried, every quick time came at the end of the session.
Jonny Edgar, who leads the class standings, missed pole by 0.014s and starts second in the #33 TF Sport Corvette. Third went to Ben Tuck, 0.058s back in the #77 Proton Competition Ford Mustang GT3 Evo, with Clemens Schmid fifth in the second Lexus. In the first session it had been Peter Dempsey who led, with a 1m48.440s in the #34 Racing Team Turkey Corvette.

It was a bad session for the drivers still chasing Edgar. Anthony McIntosh needed pole in the #69 Team WRT BMW M4 GT3 Evo to keep a slim title chance alive, but lost several laps to track limits and qualified 16th. Yasser Shahin missed Hyperpole by 0.078s to the sister Porsche in tenth, driving the #92 The Bend Manthey 911 GT3 R. Also out: both Garage 59 McLaren 720S GT3 Evos, both AF Corse Ferrari 296 GT3 Evos and the second BMW.

Qualifying had barely begun when the red flag came out: François Hériau went off on his outlap in the #21 Ferrari and hit the barriers at the Ascari chicane. Martin Berry spun the #61 Iron Lynx Mercedes-AMG at the Roggia chicane as well, but kept going and still made it through.

So Ferrari starts at the front in front of its own fans, and the Toyota title fight begins in the midfield. The standings before the finale: FIA WEC standings 2026. How Hyperpole works: Hyperpole explained.
