Kimi Antonelli won the race from Max Verstappen and Lando Norris after a virtual safety car caught the McLaren past the pit entry. Our race report has how it happened.
Lando Norris took the first pole position in Madring history by 0.011 seconds from Kimi Antonelli. Pirelli says the Hard is the most important compound for the race after graining hit the field on Friday, which we covered in our report on the tyre picture.

Lando Norris took the first pole position in Madring history by 0.011 seconds from Kimi Antonelli, and McLaren put both cars in the top seven. The Grid column shows where each car actually starts. Carlos Sainz takes a three-place grid penalty for impeding Valtteri Bottas in Q1, which drops him to twentieth and moves Alonso, Perez and Bottas up one each. Lance Stroll has a forty-place penalty for a new Honda power unit but was already last with no time. The Grid column reflects both.
