Asian Le Mans Series 2026/27: 47 cars, two Hypercars and a winter in Europe
Six four-hour races at Paul Ricard, Jerez and Portimão between November and February, with 16 LMP2s and 29 GT3 cars from eight makes
The Asian Le Mans Series has a full grid for a season unlike any before. Forty-seven cars are entered for 2026/27, the maximum the circuits can take, and all six four-hour races take place in Europe, between November and February. The organisers published the entry list on 1 October, with two Ferrari 499Ps opening a new Hypercar class alongside 16 LMP2s and 29 GT3 cars.

The series normally races in Asia and the Middle East, and the move to Europe is a response to the situation in the region. “Despite the ongoing issues in the Middle East, we are truly happy to see so many drivers and teams from Asia making the trip to compete in Europe in this unique winter series,” said Frédéric Lequien, CEO of the series organiser, in the announcement. He added that the organisers received many more applications than the 47 places available.
Two Ferrari 499Ps open the Hypercar class
Hypercars race in the Asian Le Mans Series for the first time. Cetilar Racing enters the number 47 Ferrari 499P for father and son Roberto and Nicola Lacorte, with Le Mans winner Antonio Fuoco. AF Corse fields the number 90 for Luis Perez Companc, with Le Mans winners Yifei Ye and Nicklas Nielsen. Lequien admitted the organisers had hoped for more Hypercars in the first season.

The full 2026/27 entry list
Below is the provisional entry list as published on 30 September. Seats marked as “to be confirmed” on the official list are left out, so several crews will still grow. Names follow the official list; a few obvious spelling errors were corrected using the series’ own press release.

Eight GT3 makes, and familiar names from the GT World Challenge
The GT3 class has seven Mercedes-AMGs, six Porsches, five Ferraris, four Aston Martins, two Lamborghinis, two Ford Mustangs, two McLarens and one BMW. Several crews will look familiar to GT World Challenge fans. Tom Fleming, who goes for the Gold Cup title in the Garage 59 McLaren at Barcelona this weekend, races the number 58 McLaren for the same team, as our Barcelona preview explains. Rinat Salikhov brings Winward Racing’s number 87 Mercedes-AMG, and Manthey returns with Klaus Bachler and Richard Lietz.

There is a Belgian thread too. Kobe Pauwels shares the Ecurie Ecosse Blackthorn Aston Martin, Maxime Martin races the Team Qatar by Iron Lynx Mercedes-AMG, Team WRT brings a BMW M4 for Anthony McIntosh, and Jean Glorieux leads the DKR Engineering LMP2 entry.
Our count: 47 cars, but the real show is in GT3
A sold-out grid is a strong answer to a season that had to be rebuilt from scratch. But the headline Hypercar class is two cars from one manufacturer, and two cars do not make a race. The depth is in GT3: 29 cars, eight makes and a mix of Asian teams, European regulars and drivers who know each other from the GT World Challenge. For European fans, and for media like us, a winter series at Paul Ricard, Jerez and Portimão is also a rare chance to see endurance racing up close when everything else has stopped.
Will the two Ferrari Hypercars be the main attraction this winter, or is the 29-car GT3 field the real reason to watch? Tell us in the comments.
First races at Le Castellet in November
The season opens with two four-hour races at Circuit Paul Ricard on 13 to 15 November. Drivers are graded Bronze, Silver, Gold and Platinum, the same FIA driver ratings that decide line-ups in the GT World Challenge, and the GT3 cars race under Balance of Performance. For the big endurance championship, see our FIA WEC standings 2026, and follow race weekends on the RNT live blog.
