What we stand for

RNT-Motorsports covers motorsport for people who look beyond the result sheet. Formula 1, Formula 2, IndyCar, endurance racing and the series around the, with attention for the stories others skip.

We believe motorsport journalism can be two things at once: factually reliable and genuinely gripping for the fan. That combination is our signature.

Our principles

News is news. We publish what actually happens. Every report traces back to a verifiable source: a team statement, a press conference, official timing and results, a conversation with someone involved, or reporting by an established outlet. Where we build on another outlet’s work, we say so and we link to it.

No clickbait. Our headlines deliver what they promise. We do not tease something the article fails to provide, and we do not withhold information to force a click. If a story turns out to be less dramatic than it first appeared, we write that down.

No gossip. We do not publish speculation about the private lives of drivers, team members or their families. This is explicitly off limits at RNT-Motorsports, no matter how much traffic it might attract.

Paddock talk only when there is truth in it and always labelled. Motorsport runs partly on rumour, and rumours can carry real news value. We publish them only when there is a demonstrable core of truth, and we always make clear in the text that the information is unconfirmed. We never present a rumour as fact.

Fan experience is part of the job. Alongside the news we make room for what the sport means to the people watching it: a race weekend from the grandstand, the atmosphere at the circuit, the voice of the fan. That is a deliberate editorial choice, not filler.

Who makes it

Behind RNT-Motorsports is a regular editorial team with its own reporting, contacts in the paddock and people on the ground at the circuit.

  • Jakob van Putten, Founder and Editor-in-Chief. Accredited at NLS and GT World Challenge events.
  • Joel Oliva Pacheco, Lead Motorsport Journalist. Five years of accredited Formula 2 coverage.
  • Tessa van Duin, Photographer. Accredited at NLS and GT World Challenge events.

Press accreditation in motorsport is granted per event, not as a standing credential. Earlier articles on this site include work by Luke John Buckle, accredited in Formula 2 and IndyCar across the past four years.

Our Through Her Eyes section covers women in motorsport. Readers can submit their own story there.

Corrections

We make mistakes, like everyone. What we do next is what decides whether you can trust us.

When we find a factual error, we correct it as quickly as possible. For any substantive correction we note at the foot of the article what was changed and when. We do not quietly delete articles to make an error disappear.

Spotted something wrong? Tell us at [email protected] or through our contact form. We respond to every report.

Independence

We make our own editorial decisions. Teams, sponsors and advertisers have no influence over what we publish or how we cover it.

At present we publish no sponsored articles and we use no affiliate links. Should that change, the rule stands: if an article is sponsored in any way, or if we receive a product or free access to an event, we state that clearly inside the article itself.

Images

We only use imagery we own the rights to or hold a licence for. Where possible we credit the photographer or picture agency.

If you believe we are using your work without permission, contact us, we act on those reports immediately.

Contact

The formal rules our newsroom works by are set out in our Editorial Statute (Dutch version).
