Ferrari secures Leclerc with new Multi‑Year Deal ahead of Monaco GP

The Monegasque commits his future to the Scuderia as Ferrari eyes victory on home soil.

Charles Leclerc has officially committed his future to Ferrari, signing a new multi‑year contract just days before his home Grand Prix in Monaco. The Scuderia strengthens its long‑term project with the Monegasque star as the team targets victory on the streets of Monte Carlo.

Ferrari confirms long‑term commitment to Leclerc

Leclerc extends his stay with the Scuderia

Ferrari has announced a fresh multi‑year agreement with Charles Leclerc, ensuring the 26‑year‑old remains at Maranello for the coming seasons. Leclerc, who joined the Ferrari Driver Academy in 2016 and debuted for the team in 2019, described the renewal as a natural continuation of his “second family.” The new deal reinforces a partnership that has already spanned a decade and positions Leclerc as one of the longest‑serving Ferrari drivers in history.

“I couldn’t be happier to continue this journey with Scuderia Ferrari HP,” said Leclerc. “It has always been so much more than just a team to me.

“It’s the team I’ve loved and dreamt of being part of since I was a child, and after all these years it has become a second family.

Vasseur praises Leclerc’s growth and leadership

Team Principal Frédéric Vasseur highlighted Leclerc’s evolution as both a driver and a leader within the team. He emphasised that the extension was an easy decision, pointing to Leclerc’s speed, dedication, and deep connection with Ferrari. According to Vasseur, Leclerc has become a central pillar of Ferrari’s long‑term vision, both on and off the track.

A decision that wasn’t guaranteed

At RNT‑Motorsports, we have long believed that Leclerc’s future at Ferrari was far from certain. After several difficult seasons, marked by reliability issues, strategic missteps, and a car that often failed to match his talent, it would not have been surprising if Leclerc had chosen to continue his career elsewhere. Many in the paddock expected that the combination of frustration and missed opportunities might eventually push him toward a fresh start with another top team.

Yet 2026 has brought a noticeable shift. Ferrari finally delivered a more competitive package, and although the team is still chasing Red Bull and McLaren on pure performance, the results have improved significantly. Leclerc currently sits third in the championship standings, ahead of his teammate and seven‑time world champion Lewis Hamilton.

That alone is a statement, Hamilton has begun to rediscover his rhythm at Ferrari after a challenging first year with the Italian team, but Leclerc remains the benchmark inside the garage.

Despite calling the Canadian Grand Prix the worst weekend of his career, Leclerc has now committed to staying with Ferrari for the long term.

A driver proven by adversity

Leclerc has repeatedly shown he is a world‑class driver capable of fighting at the very front. His raw speed, qualifying brilliance, and racecraft have never been in doubt. What has held him back, time and again, were circumstances beyond his control: mechanical failures, unlucky safety cars, and strategic gambles that didn’t pay off. On several decisive weekends, he was denied results that could have changed the trajectory of his career.

That makes this renewed commitment even more meaningful. Instead of walking away, Leclerc has chosen loyalty and Ferrari has chosen belief. Both sides are demonstrating a level of trust and patience that is rare in modern Formula 1. It shows maturity, resilience, and a shared conviction that their story together is not finished.

Monaco Grand Prix podium celebration

A partnership built on mutual faith. The fact that Leclerc remains with Ferrari, despite the hardships, speaks volumes about his character. And Ferrari’s willingness to double down on him, even with Hamilton in the other car, shows that the team still sees Leclerc as a future world champion. This mutual confidence is refreshing in a sport often dominated by short‑term thinking.

For fans, and for us at RNT‑Motorsports, it is genuinely encouraging to see a driver and team choosing continuity over chaos. It is a reminder that long‑term success in Formula 1 is built on stability, trust, and shared ambition.

Momentum building ahead of Monaco GP

Ferrari seen as favourites for the weekend

With strong low‑speed performance and recent upgrades paying off, Ferrari enters Monaco as one of the top contenders. Championship leader Kimi Antonelli even labelled Ferrari as the “team to beat” for the weekend, a rare compliment from a rival. Leclerc aims to deliver at home.

After calling the Canadian GP one of the toughest weekends of his career, Leclerc arrives in Monaco with renewed motivation and the backing of a fresh contract. The home hero is determined to convert Ferrari’s form into a long‑awaited victory on the streets he grew up on.
