Bourdais leads final practice as Cadillac tops FP4 at Le Mans

Cadillac leads FP4 at Le Mans. Sébastien Bourdais put Cadillac on top in FP4 with a 3:26.843 lap, giving the American manufacturer momentum heading into race day at the 24 Hours of Le Mans. The final practice session delivered tight gaps, late improvements and strong showings across Hypercar, LMP2 and LMGT3. 

Cadillac Strikes Late to Take FP4 Honours

After losing pole position earlier in the evening due to a penalty, the #38 Cadillac Hertz Team JOTA crew wasted no time proving their true pace. Sébastien Bourdais fired the V‑Series.R to the top of the timesheets with a 3:26.843, the only lap of the session to dip below the 3:27 barrier.

It was a forceful response from Cadillac, who made it clear they intend to fight at the front despite the setback. The American manufacturer also placed the #2 factory entry inside the top four, underlining their strength heading into race day.

Final Dress Rehearsal Before the 24 Hours

FP4, the shortest session of the week, served as the final dress rehearsal before the 94th edition of the 24 Hours of Le Mans. With just one hour of running, all 62 teams focused on finalising set‑ups, validating tyre choices and maximising track time before Saturday’s warm‑up.

Run entirely in darkness, the session came immediately after a dramatic Hyperpole, giving teams a rapid turnaround to switch from qualifying trim to race preparation.

Behind Bourdais, Robin Frijns placed the #20 BMW M Hybrid V8 second, continuing the German manufacturer’s strong form throughout the week. Toyota’s Mike Conway had set the early pace in the #7 GR010 Hybrid before being shuffled to third as track conditions improved.

Alpine’s #35 A424 finished fifth, continuing their consistent presence near the sharp end, while Ferrari’s #83 AF Corse entry, last year’s race‑winning team, ended the session in sixth as they worked through long‑run procedures.

Corvette Leads LMGT3 Under the Lights

In LMGT3, Nicky Catsburg topped the class with a 3:55.262 in the #33 TF Sport Corvette. The sister #34 Corvette followed closely, while The Heart of Racing Aston Martin secured third. The night‑running provided crucial data for teams expecting long stints in similar conditions during the race.

Barnicoat Fastest in LMP2

Ben Barnicoat led LMP2 for AF Corse with a 3:36.119, also topping the Pro/Am category. Duqueine’s Doriane Pin finished second, seven‑tenths back, with CLX Motorsport completing the top three. IDEC Sport, who claimed pole on Thursday, ended the session just outside the leading group.

With FP4 complete, teams now turn their attention to Saturday’s warm‑up and the start of the world’s greatest endurance race at 16:00 CEST. Cadillac’s late‑night statement, BMW’s consistency and Toyota’s resilience set the stage for a fiercely contested 24 Hours of Le Mans.
