Neumann leads Ricci by nine points as the GT3 Revival Series title goes to Barcelona
Eighteen cars for the season finale at Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya, with only the Am Gen II crown still open
The first GT3 Revival Series season ends at Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya this weekend, and only one of the three titles is still open. Heiko Neumann leads the Am Gen II standings by nine points from Benjamin Ricci, with two 50-minute races left on 3 and 4 October.

Eighteen cars, and a Le Mans winner in one of them
The official entry list (draft 6) has four Pro-Am cars, 13 in Am Gen II and a single Am Gen I entry. The one newcomer is Ortelli Racing: Stéphane Ortelli, who won the 24 Hours of Le Mans in 1998, shares an Audi R8 LMS with singer and racing driver David Hallyday.

The classes follow the age of the car and the rating of the drivers. Gen I covers cars homologated from 2006 to 2009, Gen II those from 2010 to 2013 (our homologation explainer covers what that means). Pro-Am pairs a Gold or Silver driver with a Bronze, while Am cars are driven by Bronze drivers only, as explained in our guide to FIA driver ratings.

Nine points between a Mercedes and a Ferrari
Neumann arrives in Barcelona on 120 points in his Team Motopark Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG. His first win of the season came at the Nürburgring in August, a round that Ricci missed. Ricci, in the Storic and Race Cars Ferrari 458, is on 111 points after winning both races at the opening round at Circuit Paul Ricard and winning again at Le Mans Classic.
A race win is worth 25 points, with one extra point for pole position, and there are two races left, so nine points is far from a safe lead. The series itself calls Ricci the narrow favourite. The rest of the Am Gen II field can still decide it by finishing between the two of them.
Beaubelique and Debard already have their titles
The Pro-Am crown went to Jean-Luc Beaubelique at the Nürburgring, where second place in Race 2 was enough for the Storic and Race Cars Ferrari. A Dutch driver in a Lionspeed Porsche
Timmo Mol is the only Dutch driver on the entry list. He shares the number 80 Lionspeed GP Porsche 997 GT3R with José Garcia in Am Gen II. Lionspeed GP is a name to watch across the weekend: its modern Porsche of Ricardo Feller and Bastian Buus goes into the GT World Challenge Sprint Cup finale leading the drivers’ standings, according to the series.
Our pick: Ricci, but only just
Ricci has the better season record: three wins, and a points total built up despite missing a whole round. The numbers also work for him. A win is worth seven points more than second place, so if Ricci wins both races, two second places would not be enough for Neumann. The German has to beat the Ferrari at least once, or hope someone else finishes between them. In 50-minute races one bad restart or slow pit stop can swing that, which is why this is closer than the favourite tag suggests.
