Grenier GetSpeed 12H Nürburgring: Canadian Pro Joins Championship Leaders for Debut German Round

Canadian professional driver Mikaël Grenier has been confirmed for the Grenier GetSpeed 12H Nürburgring lineup. He joins the No. 28 Mercedes-AMG GT3 EVO entry of championship leaders GetSpeed Team PCX Racing for round four of the 2026 Michelin 24H Series European Series. It is a big signing, and a big race, and the stakes could not be higher.

Who Is Mikaël Grenier?

Mikaël Grenier is a Canadian racing driver born on October 17, 1992, from Stoneham-et-Tewkesbury. He is an official Mercedes-AMG driver in GT racing for the Germany-based performance automaker. That relationship with Mercedes-AMG makes him a natural fit for the GetSpeed setup, which runs Mercedes-AMG machinery across multiple series.

Grenier transitioned to sports car racing, gaining recognition for his performances in endurance and GT racing. He has competed in various international championships, including the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship, the Blancpain GT Series, and GT World Challenge Europe. He also has a deep connection with the Nürburgring. He challenged for overall victory at Spa in 2022 before finishing fourth, and secured the Gold Cup win two years later. Few drivers know Mercedes-AMG GT3 machinery better than Grenier, and that experience will be vital in a tough 12-hour format.

The Grenier GetSpeed 12H Nürburgring Lineup

The No. 28 GetSpeed Team PCX Racing Mercedes-AMG GT3 EVO will be shared by Patrick Charlaix, Jordan Boisson, Benjamin Paque, and Mikaël Grenier. Grenier is listed as the PRO driver in the entry, which gives the team a powerful asset for the faster stints during the race.

It is worth noting that this is a new-look lineup compared to earlier rounds. The No. 28 car was previously driven by Maro Engel, Patrick Charlaix, Jordan Boisson, and Benjamin Paque at Paul Ricard. Engel steps aside here, and Grenier comes in as the professional driver for the German round. It is a smart move by the team, especially on home soil.

GetSpeed is based at home in the Nürburgring industrial park, directly at the legendary Nordschleife. Racing in their own backyard gives the team a clear psychological boost, even if the Michelin 24H Series itself has never visited this venue before.

A High-Stakes Race at a Brand-New Venue

From July 3 to 5, 2026, fans and teams will experience a motorsport spectacle in a class of its own. For the first time in the history of the Michelin 24H Series, the European series is stopping off at one of the world’s most legendary race tracks.

The event takes place in a split-race format, with two separate races held across two days: Race 1 on Saturday, followed by Race 2 on Sunday. This structure offers fans a compact and engaging weekend of motorsport action.

Round 4 marks the penultimate event of the five-round campaign. The two-part 12-hour contest could play a decisive role in the overall GT3 championship and several closely fought class battles.

Championship leaders GetSpeed Team PCX Racing return with the aim of extending their points lead on home turf. However, GetSpeed holds only a six-point advantage over HOFOR Racing following the latter’s breakthrough result at Paul Ricard. That is a tiny gap with just two rounds left. Every stint, every pit stop, and every clean lap matters.

HOFOR Racing enters the Nürburgring round with momentum after securing both the outright victory and GT3-AM honours at the Michelin 12H Paul Ricard. That result moved the Mercedes-AMG squad to within six points of GetSpeed and placed it firmly at the heart of the title battle.

Can GetSpeed Hold On?

The 12H Nürburgring provides a pivotal stage for the 2026 title fight, with only one further opportunity remaining after the chequered flag falls in Germany. That means GetSpeed cannot afford a mistake. Adding Grenier as the PRO driver gives the No. 28 car real outright pace on top of its existing consistency.

The narrow margin places added importance on every stage of the 12-hour race. A clean weekend could give GetSpeed a valuable cushion ahead of the finale, while any setback could hand control of the championship to one of its closest rivals.

The Nürburgring is a track that rewards preparation and precision. The Nürburgring also introduces a major unknown for the field, as the Creventic-organised championship visits the Rhineland-Palatinate venue for the first time. Nobody has a data advantage here. That is what makes it so exciting.

Watch the race live on the Creventic Motorsports TV YouTube channel across the weekend of July 3 to 5. For more from the world of motorsport, check out our coverage of the Austrian GP 2026 and keep an eye on how the endurance and F1 worlds collide throughout a packed summer of racing.
